Entry into the course

Anyone can apply. No pre-requisites are necessary. It’s preferred that students have obtained a minimum of a School Certificate or equivalent. Students will be required to provide a current National Police Certificate prior to commencing work placement.

Recommended Course Structure

To attain the CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) a total of 15 units of competency must be successfully completed comprising of nine (9) core units and six (6) elective units.

Work Placement

Students must undertake a minimum of 120 logged working hours within an Approved Service which will allow you to complete a range of applicable work tasks. If students are not currently working for a suitable facility, students are encouraged to locate their own work placement locations. We can assist you if you have any difficulties.


Students will be provided a Practicum Booklet that will detail the tasks to be completed and log the work placement hours. The Trainer/ Assessor will visit each student in the workplace to assess the skills required in this qualification.
